Hi Lauren thank you so much for this beginner lesson . I am a total beginner guitar player and a Grand Ma . This actually makes sense to me for my old fingers ! I have been practising the spider exercise which is very good to get my fingers going and those 4 chords are brilliant . My fingers on my fretting hand are a bit painful but I shall keep at it . I am determined to learn ! I love your gentle approach and your patient way , it makes it more encouraging for oldies like me . Thank you so much.

  40. Dale FARNSWORTH on March 20, 2021 at 7:58 pm

  41. Albert Corrales on March 20, 2021 at 8:00 pm

I just found you and I’ve learned so much from you….love love LOVE your channel❤️❤️❤️❤️

  42. daniel taylor on March 20, 2021 at 8:00 pm

Great lesson, great teacher, easy to understand and follow along. I’ve been trying to learn guitar for several months, through books and Youtube videos. I’ve learned a few chords, but just can’t seem to put together the strumming and chord changes to make it sound anything like a song. I was about ready to throw my guitar in the closet, but I might give it another try after watching this.

  44. alamosgirl on March 20, 2021 at 8:02 pm

Thank you so much! So much easier to understand. I’m newly retired and ready to learn to play the guitar, something I always wanted to do but didn’t have the time, working and being a single mother of four. I hope I’m not too old to learn. Lol

  45. Richard Gunter on March 20, 2021 at 8:03 pm

Thanks Lauren , you are an amazing teacher I was able to follow along and start playing the drills.

  46. Keith Page on March 20, 2021 at 8:08 pm

Just starting to learn, can you just explain why the diagrams are not going in the same direction as the guitar, or am I missing something
But this the first time that I have actually understood, nice work

  47. Marcie Kottmeier on March 20, 2021 at 8:10 pm

So happy to have found your site! Learning slow but actually learning!

  48. QChord4Fun on March 20, 2021 at 8:11 pm

In the beginning exercise , I think you mean ‘watch your picking hand’ rather than fretting hand,
